AYAM TANGKAP KHAS ACEH
Ayam Tangkap is one of Aceh’s cuisine that I recommended you to added into your checklist. They usually use ayam kampong and combination of herbs and spices in this menu. Spices are used such as garlic, pepper, hazelnut, salt and ginger. Ayam Tangkap is served with handful of fried leaves that covered the whole plate. The leaves are used such as curry leaves, leaf pieces pandan, and salam leaf. Why they call Ayam Tangkap? Because you have to take the chicken under those leaves as if you have to catch the chicken. Funny, huh?
These leaves apart as the appeal of the dish, and can be used as side dish. If still in warm conditions, these dry leaves taste like crackers. Pssst, they also put fried green chilies to create spicy sensation in your mouth! If you order Ayam Tangkap, the other side dishes will be served.
TIPS: I recommend you also try the smoked minced beef. Put that lime on top, and feel the sensation.
