Many people requested me to do this video. Our team has been planning and planning and planning! hahhahaha… Finally, it hit us that we just need to do it. We did the “fork” version because it is simpler and easier for you to make it yourself at home. But of course, if you are lazy you can just go out and order it. Except that at this time of my posting, there is no one in this beautiful Batam Island is selling this in their menu. Hahahhaa…. well, maybe soon this menu will pop out here and there.
So here you go. Hope you enjoy this video and go impress someone. Leave a comment if you have tried or made this before yah. Would love to share your experience

QUICK LOOK
1. Size:
Iphone 7+ has bigger and better screen it seems but in terms of holding it, I prefer Iphone 7
2. Price:
Iphone 7+ is SGD200 more expensive than Iphone 7 for each memory size
3. Camera:
Iphone 7+ has dual lenses (wide angle and telephoto) and Iphone 7 only has one lens (wide angle)
4. Home button:
Changed from “press” to “touch” button. The home button is not clickable
5. Lock button:
Moved to the side instead of the top
6. Music:
No more Headphone Jack but comes with dual stereo speaker. There will be many accessories to settle this issue including “Airpod”
7. Color:
Jet Black, Black, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold are available. (Glossy) Jet Black and (Matte) Black are cool. I personally prefer Matte because Glossy is easily scratched and leave tons of finger prints
8. Memory:
32GB, 128GB, 256GB. I presure 128GB would be more popular due to the lack of 64GB.
9. Body:
Water Resistant for both 7 and 7+
SUMMARY
Iphone 7 and 7+ are essentially the same except for the size and cameras. If you are a serious photographer, go for 7+ because of the additional telephoto lens and bokeh function. The tele lens can zoom up to 10x! In terms of size, I would probably be more comfortable holding onto an Iphone 7. For color, I would definitely go for the (Matte) Black instead of the over-hyped (Glossy) Jet Black, mostly due to maintenance issue.
All along I have been wanting to get Iphone 7+ but after today’s quick overview, I am kinda swayed back towards Iphone 7. That being said, if you love the bigger screen size and wouldn’t mind paying that extra SGD200, then definitely go for Iphone 7+. The dual camera function is definitely a bonus
SHOULD YOU SWITCH
For Iphone 6 and 6s users:
Both Iphone 7 and 7+ are upgrades from Iphone 6 and 6s because of faster processor, better camera, water-resistant body, and longer battery life. Design-wise, they look very similar except for the 3.5mm headphone jack. So I would probably hold on and for a while until the itch is unbearable. Maybe change when Iphone 7s is released
For Iphone 5 and 5s users:
If you are still using Iphone 5 or 5s like me, then do yourself a favor and just upgrade to Iphone 7
For Android users:
If you are an Android user, no comment! hahahaha….
I am just going to enjoy my new Iphone 7 first okay!

So we gathered around and decided to see who could finish this bowl of hot and spicy noodle the fastest. The winner was @longlah who claimed that he could not eat spicy food. He finished it in just over 1 minute. While the rest of us ranged between 2-4 mins. Okay fine, it took me more than 4 mins but that’s not important. hahaha… what important was, we had fun!
There was one girl @chyntiahoneys who actually cried while eating the noodle but she kept on going! Atta girl!!!
Then @jesslyn_jovian told us to pass this message, “Tell my mom I love her”.
Then they said that I looked like I just finished jogging! hahahahaha
Thanks to everyone who participated. I apologize for the delay in posting this video. Let’s do something crazy together again okay!
Enjoy watching the video, mostly in Indonesian language mixed a little English but our expressions and reactions do not need a language.

]]>I am back again to present to you these new Samyang products namely Samyang COOL and Samyang TTEOBOKKI. I tried Googling and found they are quite limited in the market now, especially this TTEOBOKKI snack
SAMYANG COOL
As advertised, Samyang Cool is supposed to be 10% spicier than the famous Samyang Spicy Chicken. I did feel a little spicy eating this Cool version but maybe it was just the marketing suggestion. Who knows, you can try it and tell me. One difference in this COOL version I think is the noodle texture. It is thinner and curlier, and I am a sucker when it comes to thinner noodles. Samyang Cool has more noodle too weighing at 151 gram compared to Samyang Spicy/Cheese at 140 gram
The KEY difference though is definitely the COOL factor. I google and youtube it and found no information on how to cook it. It does show you the steps in the packaging, but it’s all in Korean. So I checked around and I was told that the extra step is to dip the noodles in cold water with ice cubes.
HOW TO COOK: THE COOL WAY
- Cook the noodle in boiling water for 3 minutes (or until desired texture)
- Rinse the noodle
- Put the noodle into cold water with ice cube and let it sit for 1 minute
- Rinse the noodle
- Mix with the sauce
I cooked this in two ways: the normal way and the cool way. Watch the rest in the video okay. Hope this helps guys. If you want to know the difference between Samyang Spicy Chicken and Samyang Cheese, please click here .
IS SAMYANG HALAL?
Many of you asked me if Samyang is Halal or Nonhalal in general. This is a picture of the Samyang Spicy Chicken Ingredients List in Indonesian. You can decide for yourself.
SAMYANG TTEOBOKKI SNACK
Now this is currently very limited at the time of my post, at least in Batam Island it is! It is a snack. It is small. It is crunchy. And it is SPICY!!! You can probably tell the difference because this is supposed to be 20% spicier. I can’t stop munching this.

There is no correct answer to it. Some say it is worth it because most of them love super duper spicy food. Some say Samyang is over-hyped especially compared to Indonesia’s No 1 Brand, Indomie. If you have tried this Samyang, please share with us what you think in the comments below! I am sure you have some funny experiences with it
You know what, I am not here to compare Samyang vs Indomie. I am here to compare the difference between:
One thing these three types have in common: SPICY! SPICY! SPICY!
In short, Samyang with and without Halal labels are quite equal in spicy level and it just tastes spicy. While Samyang Cheese, is least spicy with Cheese flavor mixed in. For more details, please watch the video below
HALAL/NONHALAL DISCLAIMER
1. When I say Nonhalal in the video, I do not mean that Samyang Indonesia version is not Halal. What I mean is that Samyang distributed by Indonesia does not have Halal label
2. Samyang Cheese and Samyang Indonesia do not have Halal label but I cannot tell you for sure if they are actually not Halal. Please check Google and decide for yourself.
I have heard rumors of Korean’s strong tolerance for spicy food and now I can see why. I mean, Indonesians are generally quite good with spicy food but this Samyang noodle does taste really spicy for many of my friends. But some of us are crazy enough that we add “Cabe Rawit” (green chili) and “Bon Cabe” chili powder into the mix. That is a story for another time because a bunch of us did that kind of Samyang Challenge. For now, hope you enjoy this video and pardon my stupid mistakes. Thank you for your support. One of the more popular choice would be this BPK by Singalor Lau. Many people love it. The taste is good and texture is great! Small cut, juicy, and succulent. Pretty good marination too! These small-cut, juicy, and succulent meats swim through my mouth so effortlessly and flow right down to my tummy. Yummyliciousssssss. Add some sweet soy sauce to sweeten your meal. That is my preference anyway.
The emphasis here is the smaller cuts. Most other BPK in town has thicker and bigger cuts. Their ‘daun ubi’ is awesome. Their chili is Shiokkk! And any BPK goes really well with BADAK sarsapilla drink
This is totally a hidden gem lying somewhere in the increasingly crowded Mega Legenda area. Fortunately the location is in Mega Legenda, far from me and the city area. Or else I would be fat in no time.

THE FOOD
I like their selections and choices. Plentiful. I counted at least 10 different stations
1. Main Courses
2. Lontong Sayur
3. Aneka Bubur
4. Chicken Noodle
5. Fritters
6. Cendol and friends
7. Soup
8. Fruits
9. Drinks
10. Desserts
CONCLUSION
In terms of taste, it is not the best but was quite okay. Selections were more than average. For the price they are charging, its worth it. A good mix of quantity and quality with nice ambience. My favorite here is their main courses, which has 14 different themes changed each day. The themes are based on different cities and cuisines in Indonesia. I got Aceh Cuisine during my visit and they were tasty!

– Adult Rp 108,000 nett
– Children age 5-10 Rp 60,000 nett
– Children age 1-4 eats FREE
LOCATION: Da Vienna Boutique Hotel
HOURS⏰: 17:30 – 21:00
]]>The newly renovated and rebranded “Grand i-Hotel” has a contemporary and modern design. Their buffet focuses more on quality than quantity. In terms of selections, they have more than enough. But in terms of food quality, I am impressed. All their dishes are above the average All You Can Eat standards.
Some food that I fell in love with from this buffet:
MISO NOODLE
I particularly love their Miso Noodle Soup. Especially the noodle texture. So so thin but super QQ. Soup is fragrant too. Tasty and fun to eat.
WEDANG RONDE
I also find it quite unique that they serve this traditional and healthy ginger based beverage. This Indonesian beverage is known for its various health benefits to go along with its good flavor
DURIAN PENGAT
This wins. Ok sure I am biased towards durian but this is different. They actually process the durian with who knows what. All I care is my tummy loves it. And have you tried durian with strawberry ice cream on mini pancakes?
CONCLUSION
If you are looking for a nice classy place with good quality of all you can eat buffet, then you should consider this hotel

THE FOOD
The choices here are standard. Not too little but not too much. Enough to make you full. Goodway definitely focuses more on the taste quality rather than the spread. Here are some of the available stations:
1. Main Courses (4-5 dishes)
2. Mie Godhog (Indonesian noodle soup)
3. Aneka Jenang (Appetizers)
4. Aneka Gorengan (Fritters)
5. Aneka Minuman (Drinks)
6. Aneka Desserts (Desserts)
7. Buah buahan (Fruits)
CONCLUSION
Goodway buffet specializes in Nusantara (Indonesian) cuisine. My favorites here would be the Noodle, Fritters, and Main courses
PRICE: Rp 110,000 nett – all you can eat
LOCATION: Goodway Hotel – Nagoya
HOURS⏰: 18:00 – 21:00 (Daily during Ramadhan Fasting Month)

THE SETTING
This is the highlight for me. They actually put their food stations outdoor with seating arrangement available both indoor and outdoor
I love the outdoor section. It feels like I am eating at roadside. Feels very much like a night market. The whole outdoor setting looks just like street stalls all around you. It feels very and truly Indonesian (NOTE: they will move indoor soon so please check with them)
THE FOOD
The selection here is not massive but the food quality is above average. The entire food theme basically is a selection of Nusantara / Indonesian food. My favorite here is definitely the Pempek dan their Assorted Chilis. All the “Sambals” are goooooddd!
CONCLUSION
A full and satisfied tummy. I would totally come back here becauce it is so worth it in terms of taste and again, I just love the ambience here.
Last but not least, lovely to meet you Friends from various Batam Medias. See you around

THE FOOD
The selections here are quite good but not as massive as their sister hotel at Swiss-Belhotel Harbour Bay. There are about 7-8 stations serving the following:
– Aneka sambal, krupuk, lalapan
– Mie Kuah – Rendang Sapi
– Main Courses
– Siomay
– Live Cooking Bakmie Goreng
– Desserts
– Jajanan pasar dan Kurma
– Fruit station
– Drink station
– Soup and Salad bar
My top 2 favorites here are Siomay and the Live Cooking stir fry of fried noodle, bihun, kwetiao. The best part about the Live Cooking section is you get to choose the ingredients you want and put on your own plate. Pass the plate to the chef and he/she will cook for you with their own sauces.
CONCLUSION
Their focus here is definitely the food quality rather than the spread. At the price range they are charging, I think they are the top favorite for me currently. I would totally come back here again. And I would recommend you to come here if you are into good food with good vibe.
